Bavarian Meats

Old World flavor

Services: strategy, visual identity, collateral, packaging, signage
Work completed at Twin Forrest

Bavarian Meats is a premium sausage kitchen and purveyor of fine charcuterie. Opening in 1961, the German-rooted, Seattle-based, delicatessen has built a legacy on preparing and selling high quality German sausages and other meats both locally and nationally.

The brand strategy breaks away from the generic solutions that are typical of German-inspired meat shops by taking a more unique direction. Inspiration comes from the Bavarian coat of arms, German midcentury modernism, and dynamic typography to create a distinct brand system that involves print collateral, web interfaces, and packaging.

Blending Old World German traditions of sausage making with a modern and contemporary visual identity the solution suites the Pike Place, Seattle location.

The lion, Max, is affectionally named after Max Hofstatter, founder of Bavarian Meats.

You have proven time and again you are amazing! We love working with you! We are in absolute appreciation of you.
